Rating: 4.3/5.0
Most people choose their curling irons according to the style that they want to achieve. If you’re aiming for undone-looking results, this tool may be a good option for you. It does a very satisfying job creating that casual-looking hair style and it does it in the most affordable way possible. It really stands out with its price vs performance. It comes with a titanium barrel which can heat up very fast and strong, providing an effective session, especially for thick hair. Its maximum temperature of 400°F also adds to this quality, taming even the unruliest. Its minimum heat setting of 285°F, is certainly not the gentlest on our list and it may not be very healthy for your strands, in case you have very fine hair. Its wand shape is specifically created to provide extra natural-looking results and beach waves that are undone. The barrel is tapered to provide tighter curls at the tips and looser waves with volume at the base of the strands. This tool is a budget product and you can notice it from the durability of its material. Don’t expect it to last you as long as its luxury alternatives. Its rose gold colour plating comes off after some use and its cable is quite short with only 5 ft. But it comes with a 5-year limited warranty that puts minds at ease.
If you’re seeking the best curling iron for beach waves, rest assured, the InfinitiPRO by Conair Rose Gold Titanium Curling Wand has you covered.
Below, we share our experiences with “Infinitipro Rose Gold Curling Wand”.
Shape
This tool has a quite unique shape which is called a tapered wand. Wand-shaped tools are known for leaving out the holding clamp for a more natural finish. It means that you have to hold the tips of your strands with your hand while styling your hair. They’re considered to be less beginner-friendly as you need to use both your hands while styling your hair. But frankly, the results that wands aim for are much more easygoing and requires much less perfection.
The curls that are created are S-shaped rather than being spiraled and has a more natural feeling to them. The barrel of this tool is tapered, so it’s larger at the base and narrower at the tip. This allows the creation of different-sized curls throughout the hair, the base with looser and more voluminous waves and the tips with tighter locks. A tapered wand is what you usually consider for even a more natural finish than a straight wand.
This is not the ideal shape for the ones that look for perfect-looking and spiraled curls. In that case, a spring iron will do a much more satisfying job. In a matter of fact, Infinitipro offers the perfect alternative with very similar qualities to this wand, which only comes with a holding clamp for a finer finish. It’s called Infinitipro Rose Gold Titanium Curling Iron.
Size
Infinitipro Rose Gold, first of all, is a tapered wand that comes with a fixed-sized barrel. It’s larger at the base and is 1.25”, and as you reach the tip, it gets narrower and becomes 0.75”. As you can see, these numbers are basically the most versatile sizes in the market and this tool is made to fit as many hair lengths as possible. These sizes allow the creation of different-sized curls from the base till the tip of the strands. The point is to have tighter curls at the base of the strands and more volume at the tips.
The length of its barrel is 5.5”, which is the average size in the market. Middle-length barrels are pretty easy to handle and maneuver. Considering the width of its barrel being average-sized as well, we can say that this tool is quite versatile and it will fit your hair length unless it’s really short and long. It also can create the largest range of different-sized curls for different styling needs.
If you have very short strands, a smaller barrel may be beneficial. Remington Shine Therapy Tapered Curling wand has an extraordinarily narrow barrel width, starting from 1” and becomes 0.5” at the tip.
Heat and Variable Settings
Infinitipro Rose Gold Curling Wand has an impressive number of 30 variable heat settings to choose from, which usually means that it’s a very versatile tool. And the maximum temperature of 400°F really delivers the expectation of being able to tame the thickest strands. But the minimum setting of 285°F is not the gentlest for fine hair. Combines with its titanium material which can be harsh on strands, this tool is not the best option for you if you have thin hair. There are many tools in the market that offer a much lover minimum temperature such as Bioionic Goldpro Styling Wand, which works as gentle as 170°F instead.
Material and Performance
Titanium is the material of choice with this tool which is known to provides strong and fast heat. Combined with its high maximum temperature, we believe Infinitipro aimed to satisfy thicker strands with this tool. Titanium can heat up and recover its temperature as fast as possible, which is great if speed is your priority in your styling session. If you’re a beginner on the other hand, it may not be the safest option as this speed doesn’t leave much room for mistakes. In this case, especially if you have fine hair, we really recommend you to consider a curling iron with a ceramic barrel instead. T3 Singlepass Wave is a great luxury alternative with very high-quality ceramic barrel.
The material quality of this tool is not the highest on our list, but this is expected considering its highly affordable price. The tool is not very durable and the rose gold colored plating starts coming off. This is not really a kind of tool that you choose for its durability, but rather for its fast and efficient performance. If you’re looking for a luxury tool that just feels great when you hold it and you have the budget for it, we really recommend checking out Drybar the wrap Party, which is obviously more pricey but worth it if you can afford it.
Features
Infinitipro comes with a 3-finger Heat Resistant glove, which is great in wand-shaped tools because you need to use your both hands to style your hair. It also has a 60-minute auto shut-off that makes sure to avoid fire, as these tool can be quite hazardous. So, they make a genuine effort when it comes to heat protection.
One feature that is missing in this product that really catches our attention is dual voltage, as most curling irons have it. This is a technology that makes sure that your tool works with any plug in the world and that you can travel without worrying about it. So if you want to travel with this tool, its best to double-check the country’s system.
Another important feature missing in this tool is Ionic Technology. This feature eliminates frizz from the strands and provides much smoother results. We are always delighted when we find out that a tool has this feature, which is especially crucial for frizzy strands.
Ergonomics
This tool weighs 7.8oz, a bit less than the average number of 8oz. This is great news for the ones that struggle to hold their tools for too long without arm fatigue.
It doesn’t come with digital display or temperature control, which is fair enough considering this is a budget product. It also doesn’t have sound or light indicators that lets you know when the desired temperature is reached.
It has a quite small-sized cool tip to hold the tool without burning your hands. It is helpful but not one of the most comfortable ones we find in the market.
It has an integrated counter rest to make sure that your heated tool stays away from the counter, another aspect that protects from heat damage.
It has a short cord of 5 ft. Considering the average number is 7.6ft, this size is on the limit of being too uncomfortable. This is of course only an issue if you don’t have a plug right next to your plug. The cord is swivel to make it easier to maneuver. It doesn’t come with a Velcro tape to keep it tidy.
Price & Warranty
This is a very budget-friendly tool with only $41, and is a great value one in our opinion. If you need thick strands that need to be tamed with high heat and you value speed in a curling iron, this tool is surprisingly satisfying for its price. It may not be the most durable one on our list, but it comes with a 5-year warranty that just puts our minds at ease even if it breaks.
Competition
If you have dry, thin, or damaged hair and need extra protection, Infiniti also offers a ceramic version of this tool. It is InfinitiPRO by Conair Tourmaline Ceramic Tapered Curling Wand.
If you want a curling iron with a great material quality, Infinitipro Rose Gold Curling Wand may not be your dream tool. If you want a product with similar qualities, but rather have it with the best material possible, you have many other more suitable options. GHD Curve Creative Curl is one of the luxury curling wands on our list that also is tapered wand shaped for the best beach waves, but it’s a much pricier luxury alternative with extremely durable material.
